Job description

Responsibilities ย 

Activelyย participateย as a member of the clientโ€™s treatment team providing pertinent inputย regardingย client concerns, progress, etc.ย 

Work collaboratively with clientโ€™s network of supports and other types of providers involved with the client to improve clientsโ€™ chances of positive outcomes in treatment (parents, teachers, probation/FINS officers, DHS case workers, ministers/youth leaders, care coordinators and other community agencies and organizations)ย 

Provide clinical and behavioral interventions as outlined in a clientโ€™s treatment plan and guided and supervised by the treating therapist, to assist the client in resolving or improving symptoms of mental and behavioral health disorders, that are disrupting the clientโ€™s ability to function daily physically, emotionally, socially, and/or educationally.ย  Interventions must be individualized, can take place one-on-one, in a group setting with peers or with the family or with the parents/caregivers of the client.ย ย ย 

Respond to phone calls, contacts, and other communications from client, family members, guardians, outside agencies and referral sources inย an appropriate,ย professionalย andย timelyย manner.ย ย ย 

Assistย support staff as needed andย appropriate inย securing PCP referrals, parent/guardian signatures on necessary documents, reminding clients ofย appointmentย with physicians and therapists, obtaining updated demographic information, etc.ย 

Provide transportation toย clientย andย familyย as needed andย appropriate toย help ensure compliance with treatment.ย 

Attend regular staff meetingsย 

Accurately document interventions and services provided in detail (both billable and nonbillable) in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in the format andย timeframesย outlined in the organization andย departmentย policies and procedures.ย 

Check Alerts daily in the Electronical Medical Record to review and electronically sign necessary treatment documents sent to you.ย 

Check emails a minimum of twice a day (morning and afternoon) and respondย timely.ย 

The ability to consistently perform these duties and represent Methodist Family Health in the most professional, ethical manner consistent with our mission to provide the best possible care to those who may need our help and to treat the whole person: behaviorally,ย emotionallyย and spiritually.ย ย ย 

Qualificationsย 

Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of ageย ย 

Must have a minimum ofย 60 hoursย of college education, but a bachelorโ€™s degree in a Human Service field is preferred (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child and Youth Development, Criminal Justice, etc.)ย 

Mustย possessย excellent communication and strong customer services skillsย 

Possess good computer skills, some experience with Microsoft Word and Excel applications preferred, but notย required.ย 

Ability to document accurately and professionally.ย ย ย 

Experience working with โ€œat-riskโ€ youth or other populations with special needs preferred.ย 

Ability as a self-motivator and the aptitude to work in a high stress fast paced position with a minimal amount of supervision.ย 

The MHPP must meet the definition of a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider, as outlined by Arkansas Medicaid standards and regulations, which requires the completion of a minimum ofย 40 hoursย of paraprofessional training and successful completion of all written exams and competency-based skills demonstrations.ย ย This training will be provided during your first two weeks of employment.ย ย ย 

The MHPP must alsoย participateย in the supervision requirements outlined by the Arkansas Medicaid standards and regulations toย maintainย certification as a Qualified Behavioral Health Professional including weekly face-to-face supervision, monthly observations, annual continuingย educationย and completion of exam(s).ย ย ย 

Additional Mandatory Requirementsย 

Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directionsย 

Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR & First Aidย 

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of genderย 

Requires the ability to sit forย long periodsย of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel,ย crouchย and reach with hands and arms.ย 

Must be physically capableย to receiveย verbal and written directions. Must be physically capable of sitting and standing for several hours at a time.ย 

Must have good auditory,ย visualย and olfactory ability. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects,ย toolsย or controls.ย 

Must be able toย maintainย effective audio, visualย discriminationย and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others,ย readingย and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.ย 

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen,ย chartย or other treatment items.ย 

Flu vaccinationย isย mandatory andย requiredย for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).ย

Level One - Full Access:ย ย Ongoingย regular access to PHI of all forms while the employee is on duty and performing within the scope of his or her job as defined by the employee's job description, and Policy and Procedure.ย ย "Such access must be for cause, consistent with job responsibilities and related to patients, claims, audits, reviews and other legitimate business purposes." (e.g.ย Physicians,ย nursesย and other clinicians)ย
