Job description

We are seeking a Signal Processing Engineer to support the development and testing of electronic warfare systems. This position is based at NSWC Crane, which offers comprehensive support for complex military systems in the areas of Electronic Warfare, Strategic Missions, and Expeditionary Warfare. The successful candidate will work closely with teams in signal processing, software development, and system analysis, contributing to the creation and testing of advanced solutions to the Warfighter. This role requires in-person support.

Duties:

  • Develop signal processing algorithms and waveforms for communications, networking, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Design, model, implement, and test algorithm concepts through software.
  • Perform analysis of radio frequency communication protocols.
  • Develop, test, and deliver radio frequency signal solutions for Navy Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
  • Use spectrum analyzers to evaluate complex waveforms.
  • Conduct analysis of Navy EW systems and perform diagnostics to resolve system issues.
  • Perform unit/system testing for Navy EW systems
  • Coordinate system updates and perform configuration management in collaboration with the OEM.
  • Maintain and update system documentation to support configuration management processes.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering with major in microwave and radio frequency (RF) theory.

Required Experience:

  • 7 years related professional experience in microwave and radio frequency (RF) design.
  • Computer design, software development, or computer networks.
  • MATLAB theory and application.
  • RF device applications and signal processing/protocol testing.
  • Strong software coding experience.
  • RF test equipment and theory.
  • Programming software defined radios.
  • Proficiency in system diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
