Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects across a portfolio including associated vendor communications, project reviews, cost/schedule tracking, planning, scheduling of resources, and all other implementation activities.  Be the main contact in the Engineered Performance Team and have the responsibility to execute a portfolio of projects to ensure that the project scope and objectives are accomplished within the agreed-upon budget cost while adhering to project management best practices.

Primary Duties

  • Partner with multiple teams across our company to prioritize major power projects by understanding scope, requirements, level of effort, and state of our pipeline, and clarifying trade-offs when changes are made to that plan.
  • Build and manage project schedules in Microsoft Project or similar.
  • Provide adequate schedule updates per NAES client/internal agreements.
  • Set realistic timelines and consistently meet the benchmarks within it.
  • Readjust   and communicate the schedule as necessary to ensure timely delivery of the final project.
  • Manage the financial plan and consistently evaluate the project budget.
  • Manage day to day interaction with the Engineered Performance Team, Vendors and Business Process Owners, build relationships and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and respond to potential issues throughout the life of the project to minimize potential negative impacts.
  • Perform proactive Risk Management - Asses the project/solution risk, communicate and administer mitigation plans.
  • Review and manage Statement of Work, Change Requests, and follow internal approval business processes.
  • Project status reporting with stakeholders including Actions and Decisions.
  • Establish and maintain the project communication plan providing updates to the project team as well as the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the quality of deliverables.
  • Mentor more junior project managers supporting them with small to medium sized projects.

Working Relationships

Works with the Engineered Performance team and reports up to the Fleet Services or Engineered Performance Management.  Does not have any direct reports.

Compensation 

The initial compensation is $137,500 to $158,100

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Years of Experience:
    • Eight years of experience as a PM/Operations focused on working with major power generation projects.
    • Experience project managing large power generation projects both new construction and/or major maintenance.
    • Licenses/Certification: PM certification (PMP)
    • Software/Equipment Knowledge:
      • Microsoft Project or Primavera
      • Power Generation EPC Projects or Power Generation Major Maintenance Projects (preferred)
    • Other Considerations:
      • Able to handle stressful deadlines and situations
      • Responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
      • Superior customer service skills
      • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
      • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
      • Able to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills that allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

    Physical Requirements-The employee may sit at a desk and use a computer workstation, to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.

    Working Conditions- Work regular business hours but may have to work evenings and weekends to meet deadline depending on client needs and requests. This position may work remote, travel based on business needs.

    Fit for Duty

    All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
