Job description

Responsible for estimating costs on projects in a timely manner and with accuracy for the sales and project management teams.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities – Research and Analyze

  • To generate RFIs and review all addendums in order to complete estimate
  • To research, contact and qualify outsourced vendors
  • To review plans to verify scope and project details and risks
  • To review take-offs and sign counts in architectural plans
  • To research materials, costs and lead times for products w/in the sign designs
  • To estimate in compliance with the design
  • To bid to sign package specifications
  • To offer Value Engineering options to base bid designs

Key accountabilities – Collaborate

  • To collaborate with production/installation regarding labor and material estimates
  • To educate and advise internal team on design solutions and best practices
  • To provide budgetary ROM numbers for customers
  • To estimate to cost and collaborate with AM for suggested markup vs. requested markup
  • To collaborate with design and project team during pre/post bid meetings
  • To educate and negotiate with vendors on means and methods of fabrication and/or VE options

Key accountabilities – Administration

  • To determine project costs using CSD estimating sheets and custom software
  • To complete estimate w/ in committed timeframe
  • To create project bill of material updates for design changes or fabrication changes
  • To properly document all descriptions, changes, vendor quotes, etc in the CSD drive Estimating Folder

Key accountabilities- Customer Service

  • To interact with customers w/ sales team or project management team in descopes, site walks, as required.

Education and Experience

Education requirements:

  • College Education and/or Relevant training in estimating and an understanding of architectural interior and exterior signage products.

Experience

  • 5 years custom architectural and national brand program sign estimating
