Barricades and Signs is the industry leader for all traffic safety needs in Western Canada.  Since 2004, Barricades and Signs has experienced steady growth and can support small scale projects to large scale infrastructure needs.  We offer a full range of roadside safety products and onsite traffic services to our customers.  We are thrilled to be a part of the larger Universal Group and have grown to the largest traffic solution provider in the country. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for full-time, permanent Sign Shop Labourer to join our team!  As a vital member of the production team, the Sign Shop Technician is responsible for making standard and custom signs.  This includes but is not limited to substrate preparation, lamination, application of vinyl and digitally printed graphics, and maintaining inventory control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare vinyl and digitally printed materials for application
  • Prepare various substrates
  • Complete data entry
  • Assist in other production tasks
  • Operation and basic maintenance of roller table and other equipment/tools
  • Assist in quality control of all production
  • Complete machine maintenance when necessary
  • Work individually and in a team setting
  • Maintain accurate stock and materials records
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Dependability and reliability
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods of time, handle power tools and other equipment, and bend/reach over working tables
  • General working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, google docs
  • Ability to balance quality, speed, and attention to detail

HOURS OF WORK

The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
