Job description

Strategic Innovation Group (SIG) is at the forefront of driving mission-critical technology transformation across the FAA. Our teams support top-down digital transformation efforts that modernize outdated infrastructure, processes, and technology across high-impact programs and agency-wide initiatives.

We are seeking a Technology & AI Analyst who wants to build a broad technical foundation while contributing to meaningful work from day one. In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to software development, artificial intelligence, automation, cloud engineering, requirements analysis, and digital transformation.

At SIG, early-career team members are not limited to one narrow function. You will work closely with senior engineers, technical leaders, clients, and other team members to understand problems and help build solutions. You will see how technology initiatives move from identifying a business need through requirements, development, testing, implementation, and adoption.

The role also offers opportunities to contribute to the SIG AI Lab, including client-focused AI enablement, internal automation, and applied R&D. As your skills develop, you will have the opportunity to take increasing ownership of projects and technical workstreams.

SIG's small, collaborative environment gives you the opportunity to work closely with experienced team members, contribute across disciplines, and see the direct impact of your work. For someone who is technically curious and eager to learn, this role provides a strong foundation for a career in digital transformation, application development, AI and automation, cloud technology, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute hands-on development work, including scripts, automation, integrations, and light application development, in support of the SIG AI Lab and program engineering needs
  • Support AI Lab initiatives across internal corporate automation, client AI enablement, and applied R&D, with opportunities to take increasing ownership of AI workstreams as skills develop
  • Support cloud engineering efforts, including AWS/Azure environment support, migration documentation, and configuration support
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives focused on modernizing legacy infrastructure, systems, and processes
  • Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements with stakeholders and end users
  • Help translate business needs and operational challenges into actionable technical solutions
  • Produce clear technical deliverables, including requirements documents, user stories, process flows, SOPs, and status reports
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives, and manage work items in JIRA
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, clients, and other cross-functional team members throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support quality assurance, testing, and documentation of system changes
  • Take increasing ownership of deliverables, projects, and technical workstreams as your skills and experience grow

Required Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Master's degree + 1 year of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree + 3 years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain any required government clearance/suitability determination
  • Hands-on development or scripting ability (Python, PowerShell, or similar); comfort reading and writing code is expected
  • Strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
  • Interest in digital transformation and using technology to solve business and operational challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter mindset with a desire to learn quickly, work collaboratively, and take on increasing ownership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with technical writing or requirements gathering
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile/Scrum methodologies
