Residential Care Technician (CNA / Med Tech)

Sierra Health and Wellness uses evidence-based methods to accomplish the restoration of families, relationships, and self-worth. By transforming the character, we give life back to the people who have lost it through substance abuse and mental health issues. Our brand new, 15-bed, mental health facility is located in Orangevale, Ca. Our inpatient facility serves voluntary clients who receive specialized and personal care from our staff.

Positions available:

  • Full-time & Part-time

Duties and responsibilities:

The Residential Care Technician is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, supporting medical and behavioral needs, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment. This role oversees client health monitoring, documentation, ADL assistance, transportation, and medication observation.

Essential functions:

  • Provide direct client care that promotes safety, respect, and therapeutic engagement.
  • Observe clients' physical and emotional condition and promptly report any concerns to clinical or supervisory staff.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, toileting, bathing, and meals, as needed.
  • Take and document vital signs, complete wellness checks, and record observations according to program procedures.
  • Observe and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral health or medical crises and follow established intervention protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain client rooms and common areas to ensure a safe and supportive living environment. Support meal service and ensure dietary needs and restrictions are followed.
  • Provide safe transportation for clients to program activities, appointments, and other approved outings.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and readiness for transport.
  • Assist with general facility upkeep and environmental services as needed.
  • Support the admissions process, including intake support and documenting client belongings and inventories.
  • Participate in and help facilitate groups, activities, and treatment programming as directed by clinical staff.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of hire)
  • Med-tech or CNA Certification (within 30 days of hire)

Preferred education and experience:

  • Associates degree in Psychology, or Social Work or other related field or a combination of education and/or two (2) or more years of experience in healthcare or mental health experience.
