Position Overview

The Simcenter STAR-CCM+ team is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Manager to lead and guide the development of cutting-edge battery simulation solutions. You'll lead a team of talented developers through the entire agile release process while contributing directly to the evolution of industry-leading computational fluid dynamics technology. This is an opportunity to shape the future of numerical simulation in the battery industry, where your technical expertise and leadership will have real impact on product innovation and customer success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of multiple developers, guiding them through the entire agile release process
  • Drive the development of efficient battery simulation solution methods, performance benchmarking, and code optimization in a fully MPI-parallel environment
  • Collaborate with other Simcenter development teams (HPC, pre/postprocessing, discretization, and meshing)
  • Specify, implement, test, and document high-quality solver features in close collaboration with team members
  • Partner with product management, application specialists, and QA engineers to ensure the solver meets real-world industrial needs
  • Participate actively in daily stand-ups, review meetings, retrospectives, and planning sessions to maintain agility and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading a software development team using agile development processes
  • M.Sc. or equivalent in mechanical engineering, computational mechanics, computer science, or a comparable physics-based discipline
  • Hands-on experience developing CFD solvers in commercial or academic environments
  • High proficiency in C++ and strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to work effectively in geographically distributed teams
  • Passion for numerical simulation and a drive to find creative solutions for challenging battery industry use cases with a focus on customer value
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background and expertise in battery simulation
  • Experience with battery modeling combined with fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ and Battery Design Studio

Our Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is 78.700 to 141.700 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
