The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Columbia Dining Services is a dynamic, progressive department in an exciting, fun environment with a customer-focused culture. We have an immediate opening for a Short Order Cook.
Short Order Cooks interact with customers as they create customized meals on our grill and cook-to-order stations. This individual will also prepare and cook to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time and take orders from customers, and serve patrons.
Responsibilities
  • Takes orders from customers and cooks food requiring short preparation time, according to customer requirements.
  • Completes order from grill and/or steam table and serves customer.
  • Orders, receives, and stores necessary food and supplies and maintains related records.
  • Complies with the rules of Dining Services in regard to production and serving.
  • Uses and maintains tools and equipment in a proper manner, including, but not limited to, steamtables, coffee brewing equipment, and food display cases.
  • Cleans, prepares, and keeps in order the area and equipment used in the job and other areas as assigned by the Manager.
  • Observes and practices safety standards.
  • Performs the duties of a Pantry Worker when necessary.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned within job classification.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Pantry Worker a plus.
