As aDisability Claims Examiner supporting our customers during some of the most important moments of their lives. You will manage a caseload of Short Term Disability and Absence claims, applying sound judgment, analyticalexpertise, and empathy to deliveroptimalclaims handling andtimely,accuratedecisions.

The current employee work arrangement for this position isfully virtualand has an estimated start time between 7am and 9am EST. While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where youare required tobe on-site at a Prudential office.

What you can expect:

  • Accurately manage a block ofShort Term Disability and Absenceclaims by applying contract/policy provisions,leveragingavailable resources and tools, and ensuring correct eligibility and liability determinations.

  • Review and interpret medical records, complete financial calculations, and apply analytical and critical thinking skills to support sound claim decisions.

  • Deliver an exceptional, differentiating customer experience by communicating claim decisions clearly and effectively via phone, email, text, and written correspondence to employees, employers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

  • Document objective, clear, and technical rationale for all claim determinations whilemaintainingknowledge of Prudential's systems, policies, procedures, contracts, and all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.

  • Verify continued liability on active claims and develop strategies for return-to-work opportunities whereappropriate.

  • Payappropriate claimsaccurately andtimely, respond to all inquiries, and consistently meet expected service and quality benchmarks.

What you'll need:

  • Open to candidates with diverse professional backgrounds, including hospitality, case management, absence management, and shortterm disability functions.

It'dbea plus if you had:

  • 2-3 years of experience managing Short Term Disability and/or Absence claims.

  • Previous knowledge of claim and risk management, including contract interpretation and administration.

  • College degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Requirements:

This position will work virtually; therefore, new hires must be able to provide the following & all new hires who work remotely will be held accountable to these standards:

  • Subscribe to internet service provider plan with at least 25 Mbps download speeds. You must be willing to troubleshoot any issues or outages with your home internet service, contacting your service provider as necessary.

What we offer you:
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $53,300.00 to $88,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
