Job description

Title of role: Short-term Merchandise Planning Analyst 
Location: New York or Boston; Hybrid (2 days in the office required) 
Approved Salary Range: $23/hourly 

About the Role:

As a Planning Analyst you will utilize data analysis to optimize category merchandising performance, maximize sales and contribute to the overall success of the merchandise strategies and achievement of KPIs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze historical performance to inform future action and strategies and capitalize on future opportunities for success.
  • Develop an understanding of key performance metrics, such as gross demand, gross margin profit and inventory productivity.
  • Provide analytical support to the Merchandise Planning team, contributing to effective decision-making and the overall success of the merchandise planning strategies.
  • Track and evaluate the financial performance of merchandise categories against established KPI's.
  • Organize and prioritize workload for self to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Organize, maintain, and track the in-season event frameworks, supporting the overall operations of the business.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within merchandise planning.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the planning team.
  • Actively participate in self-development.
  • Build and foster effective relationships with Merchandising, Programing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Merchandising strategies to support overall business objectives. 

Experience and Background Needed:

  • An effective communicator who loves to collaborate with others. 
  • Ability to adapt well to changes in direction and priorities in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • 0-2 years' experience: internships and co-ops are welcome. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); comfortable with reporting tools.
