Role Overview:
As a Senior Paid Search Strategist at Avenue Z, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of e-commerce and B2B clients, with a focus on driving positive results through Google and Bing Ads platforms. Reporting to the Paid Search Manager, you will lead account strategy, ad buying, ad account setup, partner and tech integration, and client communications. You will play a key role in developing and executing paid search strategies tailored to client goals and ensuring the seamless execution of campaigns. With a focus on performance marketing, you will be responsible for optimizing campaign performance and delivering data-driven insights to meet client KPIs.
Responsibilities:
  • Account Management and Strategy
    • Manage a portfolio of 10 clients, comprising a mix of e-commerce and B2B stores.
    • Lead weekly client calls to review account performance, marketing KPIs, and provide strategic insights.
    • Develop and execute paid search strategies, including keyword research, bid management, and competitor analysis.
    • Build strong client relationships by delivering expert advice on campaign performance and optimization opportunities.
  • Campaign Setup and Execution
    • Oversee the end-to-end setup of ad accounts, including Google Ads, Bing Ads, and integrated tools such as Google Analytics, Google Merchant Center, and other third-party platforms.
    • Implement conversion tracking and ensure that all technical integrations (e.g., Hubspot, Shopify) are fully functional to support campaign performance.
    • Utilize best practices for keyword management, ad copy creation, and campaign optimization.
    • Continuously manage and refine negative keyword lists to improve campaign efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization
    • Run A/B tests using Google Ads experiments to optimize ad performance.
    • Regularly conduct audits of client accounts, reviewing key metrics such as CTR, CPA, and ROI, and identifying opportunities for scaling.
    • Analyze campaign data to make informed decisions on budget allocation and bidding strategies.
    • Implement technical integrations and ensure that all aspects of the client's tech stack are aligned with their paid search efforts.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Create weekly and monthly reports aligned with each client's KPIs and ensure timely delivery of insights.
    • Provide in-depth campaign analysis and present recommendations for optimizations and scaling.
    • Develop case studies that highlight successful campaigns, contributing to the agency's internal knowledge base and marketing materials.
  • Client Communication and Leadership
    • Serve as the point of contact for all client communications related to paid search, providing proactive insights and performance updates.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align paid search strategies with broader client marketing goals.
    • Lead weekly and monthly reporting calls, ensuring clients understand campaign progress and future strategies.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement
    • Stay informed on the latest paid search trends, tools, and best practices to enhance campaign performance.
    • Contribute to refining internal processes for campaign management, reporting, and client communication.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field is typically required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing paid search campaigns on Google and Bing, with proven success in performance marketing.
  • Strong understanding of Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other relevant tools.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients, particularly in e-commerce and B2B sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to campaign management and optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead client calls with confidence.
  • Experience with technical integrations (e.g., Hubspot, Shopify) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the buyer's journey, and how to approach content marketing for different types of keywords.
  • Effective project management skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet deadlines. Ensures successful end-to-end campaign execution and delivery.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking in understanding business objectives and aligning them with paid search marketing efforts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify challenges, propose solutions, and adapt strategies. Creative thinking and innovation to find new approaches and tactics for campaign success.
