Position Summary

Bluewater is seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer to elevate the quality of our web development practice and create exceptional digital experiences that drive measurable business results.

This is not an entry-level design role. We are looking for a proven designer who can produce high-quality, portfolio-worthy work from day one. The ideal candidate is an accomplished designer with experience creating responsive websites, Shopify storefronts, and conversion-focused landing pages that help businesses generate leads, sell products, and grow revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design visually compelling, responsive websites, landing pages, and digital experiences from concept through developer handoff.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Design Shopify storefronts and e-commerce experiences that maximize usability and conversion.
  • Develop product pages, landing pages, merchandising layouts, and checkout experiences optimized for customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to ensure designs are accurately implemented.
  • Apply user experience (UX) and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices to improve website performance.
  • Design websites that support paid media campaigns, social media marketing, television advertising, and omnichannel customer acquisition strategies.
  • Present design concepts and creative rationale to internal teams and clients.
  • Maintain consistency across websites through reusable components and established design patterns.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional web design experience.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing modern, responsive websites and digital experiences.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience designing Shopify websites or other leading e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) design.
  • Experience creating websites that support lead generation, customer acquisition, or e-commerce sales.
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles and customer journey design.
  • Ability to create developer-ready design files and collaborate effectively with front-end and back-end developers.
  • Strong understanding of HTML and CSS capabilities and limitations (coding experience is beneficial but not required).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency experience.
  • Shopify Plus experience.
  • Experience designing websites for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.
  • Experience supporting brands that market products through television, streaming, paid social, influencer marketing, or omnichannel campaigns.
  • Familiarity with social commerce platforms such as Meta Shops, TikTok Shop, YouTube Shopping, or similar ecosystems.
  • Experience with subscription commerce, product launches, and digital merchandising.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies, heat mapping, behavioral analytics, or experimentation platforms.
  • Experience creating scalable design systems for growing organizations.
