We are a growing company specializing in the manufacturing of galvanized fence gates and supporting commercial fence installation crews. We are seeking a hands-on Shop Lead / Equipment & Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations, fabrication activities, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and fleet readiness.

This position is ideal for an experienced leader who enjoys working with their hands, managing a team, solving mechanical problems, and ensuring crews have the tools and equipment needed to succeed in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Operations & Leadership

  • Manage daily shop operations while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

  • Supervise shop personnel and assign daily priorities and tasks.

  • Coordinate shop workflow to meet production and installation schedules.

  • Ensure company policies and safety procedures are followed.

Fabrication & Production

  • Fabricate galvanized fence gates, posts, and related components.

  • Perform MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication work.

  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Prepare materials and components for installation crews.

Equipment, Fleet & Mechanical Repair

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair company vehicles, trailers, forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, tools, and equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine service.

  • Maintain maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and operational issues.

  • Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.

  • Ensure all equipment is safe, operational, and job-ready.

Inventory & Material Management

  • Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials and deliveries.

  • Track inventory levels and order replenishment as needed.

  • Manage parts inventory for equipment and vehicle repairs.

  • Maintain accurate records of materials, tools, and equipment assignments.

Crew Support & Dispatch

  • Stage materials, equipment, and supplies for daily projects.

  • Coordinate loading and dispatching of trucks and trailers for multiple installation crews.

  • Ensure all trucks and trailers are properly stocked and equipped before leaving the shop.

  • Support field crews with troubleshooting, equipment, and material needs throughout the workday.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in mechanical repair, equipment maintenance, fabrication, manufacturing, or shop operations.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Previous shop management, lead, or supervisory experience.

  • MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.

  • Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, and telehandlers.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • CDL Class A license.

Schedule

  • Full-Time

  • Monday through Friday

  • Early morning start times

  • Seasonal overtime based on workload

  • Occasional Saturday work as needed
