Fabrication Shop Welder/ Fabricator


Precision Industrial Manufacturing (PIM), a division of Precision Industrial Contractors (PIC), is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Welder and Fabricator to join our growing team. In a Nutshell

As a Shop Fabricator, you'll fabricate and weld structural steel components while ensuring every project meets quality standards and customer specifications. You'll work from blueprints, perform FCAW and GMAW welding, operate fabrication equipment, and help keep shop operations running safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings.
  • Perform FCAW and GMAW welding to AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Lay out, fit, align, tack, and weld structural steel components.
  • Operate welding machines, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Mark and identify materials and completed parts.
  • Safely move materials using overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Support other fabrication shop activities as needed.


What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of structural steel welding or fabrication experience.
  • AWS D1.1 FCAW certification or the ability to pass a weld test.
  • Strong experience with FCAW and GMAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
  • Experience with overhead cranes and rigging is preferred.
  • GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the day.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to perform precision welding and fabrication.
