Job description

Ace Hardware - Stihl Shop Apprentice


Looking for a career in the Stihl small engine repair field? Are you mechanically inclined? Are you a self-starter?

Berwick Ace Hardware in Savannah, Ga is looking for a full-time, small engine repair apprentice to work on STIHL products.

Already STIHL certified - GREAT! BUT, if not, we will put you through the proper training to get you certified.


  • Hours: Monday - Friday - 7 am - 4 pm - some overtime may be required
  • Saturdays only as needed
  • Employee discount
  • Paid holidays after 90 days
  • Eligible for medical benefits after 90 days
  • 40 hours' vacation after 1 year of service




Scope of the Position

  • Complete all 4 levels of training for STIHL - increase in pay after completion of each certification level
  • Order and stock product and parts for STIHL display and for repairs
  • Professionally engage with customers to assist with educating them on STIHL products to help them make an informed decision
  • Contacting the Warranty center for STIHL products - File warranty claims
  • Accurately diagnose the problem with equipment and sufficiently explain the problem and solution to the customer
  • Log all incoming repairs and successfully keep track of parts ordered and progress of completion of repair
  • Provide realistic estimated time for repair
  • Must possess sense of urgency to complete and meet all deadlines, as if it were your own


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Job requires stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying
  • Able to tolerate engine fumes and dusty conditions
  • Exposure to extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Must be dependable and available to work 40 hours a week, with occasional overtime
