Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Reports To: Director of Operations

Grower Direct Farms is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee all internal logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, dock management, trailer flow, cart movement, and coordination between production and transportation teams.

This role serves as the operational bridge between greenhouse production and transportation execution.

Position Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating the movement of products, carts, trailers, and materials throughout the organization. The role manages shipping and receiving operations, loading docks, inventory movement, internal transfers, and production scheduling support.

The position ensures product readiness and efficient movement from greenhouse production through final transportation loading.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving Operations

  • Lead all shipping and receiving activities
  • Manage inbound and outbound freight processing
  • Ensure accurate shipment verification
  • Maintain shipping documentation and records
  • Coordinate receiving schedules with vendors and suppliers

Dock Operations & Distribution

  • Manage loading dock personnel and workflow
  • Ensure proper trailer loading sequence and accuracy
  • Oversee outbound order staging
  • Coordinate trailer positioning and dock utilization
  • Monitor dock productivity and loading efficiency

Internal Logistics

  • Coordinate movement between Grower Direct Farms facilities
  • Manage cart allocation and recovery processes
  • Coordinate trailer staging and yard flow
  • Ensure product movement supports production schedules
  • Support inventory transfers and redistribution activities

Production Coordination

  • Work closely with Production, Growing, and Inventory teams
  • Align shipping schedules with crop readiness
  • Coordinate labor requirements for loading activities
  • Resolve bottlenecks impacting product flow
  • Support seasonal production ramp-up planning

Documentation & Systems

  • Prepare Bills of Lading and shipping manifests
  • Maintain shipping and receiving records
  • Utilize Avantalytics and other operational systems
  • Coordinate with Accounting regarding shipment documentation
  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives

Cross-Training & Business Continuity

  • Maintain working knowledge of transportation scheduling and dispatch operations
  • Provide backup coverage for Transportation Manager responsibilities when required
  • Support driver scheduling and route coordination during absences
  • Other duties as assigned by the reporting supervisor


Qualifications

  • 5+ years logistics, warehousing, distribution, or shipping management experience
  • Experience managing shipping docks and warehouse operations
  • Strong inventory movement and workflow management skills
  • Experience coordinating with production or manufacturing operations
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Experience using logistics or inventory management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
