Job Summary

The Facilities and Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained operations across Claros Technologies' lab, warehouse, and office environments. This role owns facility operations, shipping and receiving, and inventory coordination while supporting a growing startup's infrastructure needs. This position serves as the primary owner of the physical facility and is fully accountable for the performance, organization, and success of the lab and operational spaces. Additionally, this role provides support for environmental health and safety EHS programs, helping reinforce a strong safety culture and maintain compliance as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Site Operations

  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination and communication among all teams using the facility to ensure seamless logistics and operations.
  • Maintain facilities calendars
  • Own and manage day-to-day facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and vendor coordination
  • Maintain clean, organized, and high-functioning laboratory, warehouse, and office spaces
  • Oversee equipment upkeep and operational readiness (e.g., forklifts, lab equipment, utilities)
  • Support space planning and facility expansions as the company grows
  • Manage inventory levels for lab, field, and office supplies and ensure proper storage and organization

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory

  • Lead all shipping and receiving activities, including material handling, packing, and logistics coordination
  • Ensure accurate documentation (labels, packing slips, invoices) and timely deliveries
  • Identify and implement improvements to material flow and operational efficiency
  • Preparing International shipments

Operational Support & Coordination

  • Travel between local sites (Twin Cities) to support facilities and operational needs
  • Partner with lab, engineering, and operations teams to support daily workflows and project execution
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and proactively address facility-related needs

EHS Support

  • Support implementation and adherence to EHS policies and safety procedures (Including monthly maintenance checklist)
  • Assist with safety training, hazard identification, and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Serve as a resource for EHS compliance efforts, audits, and documentation
  • Reinforce safe handling, storage, and movement of materials across facilities

Process Improvement & Startup Scaling

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve organization, and increase efficiency
  • Help establish scalable processes, documentation, and best practices for a growing environment
  • Contribute to building a strong operational foundation for future growth

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in facilities management, operations, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 47+ years of experience in facilities, warehouse, or operations roles
  • Experience in a lab, manufacturing, or startup environment strongly preferred Technical & Operational Skills
  • Hands-on experience with shipping/receiving, inventory management, and facility maintenance
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) or willingness to be trained
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices (EHS experience a plus, not required) Soft Skills
  • Proactive, self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks regularly
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel
