Job description

This position is responsible for arranging product transportation to customers, creating related paperwork, maintaining records for outgoing shipments and ensuring timely outbound deliveries using various carriers and transportation modes.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, ASNs, and others in advance of shipment. Review shipment contents and verify records (manifests, invoices, orders, etc.) are accurate. Record shipment data including weight, charges, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Contact carriers to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Manage and execute the Sales Order Backlog for the warehouse on a daily basis.
  • Obtain freight quotes and provides to the Sales team upon request.
  • Manage the put away process and entry of goods into the ERP system so that all stock items are put away by the end of each day.
  • Pack, seal, label and affix shipping documents to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and maintain a clean work environment.


Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Three years domestic and export shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Three years experience using web-based carrier software and ERP system
  • One year forklift experience
  • One year crane experience

Minimum Skill Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of logistics and trucking processes
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Proven basic math skills
  • PC proficiency using Word, Excel and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use repetitive hand/wrist motion; occasionally required to twist/turn, stoop/bend, push/pull, squat, reach overhead and use forearm rotation. Employee must also be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Vision corrected to near 20/20 required.
