Overview

We are currently seeking a Ship Crane Operator to support our terminal operations in Gibsonton.  The Ship Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ship-to-shore cranes to load and unload cargo at the marine terminal. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely movement of goods while maintaining strict compliance with safety standards and operational procedures. Success in this role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced port environment.

Responsibilities

What your day looks like as a Ship Crane Operator:

  • Safely operate Ship to Shore Cranes including GL/GLE, RTG, and Gantry Crane 
  • Safe and knowledgeable operation of equipment
  • Inspection of equipment for defect or damage before and after operation
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment to safety standards
  • Discharge Vessels promptly
  • Attentive to operations and surroundings
  • Follow scheduling and production goals set by management
  • Work as a team to meet, achieve, and exceed goals when possible

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 6 months minimum experience with Ship Crane Operation or similar.
    • Must possess valid relevant crane training certification if you do not have work experience. This includes Gantry Crane, GL/GLE, or K4 Crane Training. 
  • Understanding and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used for Crane Operation. 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card (for more information visit the TSA website on TWIC requirements)
  • Valid US driver's license

  • As a port employer our team is subject to working in all weather conditions including extreme heat and harsh winters. We work in all weather conditions. 
  • All employees must pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical and be able to obtain a valid TWIC card within a specified period of hire.
