Job description

We are actively hiring experienced Shipfitters to support shipyard production in the Hampton Roads area. If you know your way around blueprints, structural steel, and tight-tolerance fabrication, this is your chance to put your skills to work on some of the most advanced vessels in the world.

This role is ideal for skilled shipyard professionals who thrive in fast-paced industrial environments and take pride in precision craftsmanship.

???? Shipfitter Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel components for submarine and ship construction

  • Read and interpret shipyard blueprints, weld symbols, and layout drawings

  • Fit bulkheads, foundations, frames, brackets, and deck structures

  • Perform tack welding, grinding, burning, and alignment as required

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment accurately

  • Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial environments

  • Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and production teams to meet project deadlines

✅ Shipfitter Qualifications:
  • Prior shipyard shipfitting experience strongly preferred

  • Experience in submarine construction or naval shipbuilding is a plus

  • Ability to read blueprints and structural drawings

  • Comfortable working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Familiarity with OSHA shipyard safety standards

  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance
