ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT (Assistant Field Manager) JOB SUMMARY

The ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT (Assistant Field Manager) directs TradePartner, material suppliers and goes on building inspections at the job-site. He/she is a builder agent and field representative who is self-motivated, self-confident person that is responsible to make independent decisions regarding the workflow of the different phases of construction. A ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT'S (Assistant Field Manager) primary function is to direct, supervise and evaluate the TradePartner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and establish workflow and priorities for the TradePartner.

  • Understand basic details and installations methods used by TradePartner.

  • Direct, and schedule the work by TradePartner.

  • Oversee subordinates, TradePartner, and others to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Be responsible for establishing and enforcing safety measures, including compliance with all O.S.H.A. regulations and material Safety Data Sheets.

  • Maintain on sites current (written) Shea Homes Northern California Safety Program along with holding or attending weekly safety meetings.

  • Notify TradePartner and suppliers far enough in advance to assure materials are delivered and TradePartner arrives on schedule.

  • Effectively train and manage TradePartner, to include complete conformance to the inspection and Checklist Requirements for the Home Construction Process.

  • Develop weekly production reports and other records.

  • Help deliver homes for buyer move-ins including, but not limited to:  detailing of units when needed, establishing and following up on subcontractor punch lists and the actual schedules of TradePartner.

  • Ensure a professional Orientation Walk-Thru of Zero Defect Home by the scheduled delivery date.

  • Ensure the quality and appearance of the entire community.

  • Evaluate the progress of all TradePartner on a daily basis and independently make appropriate decisions to ensure problems are resolved.

  • Direct and accelerate, if and when needed, the progress of all subordinates, i.e. laborers, detailer, TradePartner and any other personnel designated to him by the project superintendent.

  • Regulate, on a daily basis, safety violations, i.e., scaffolding and equipment misuse, hardhat and protective wear use and any other safety hazard that could cause accidents, per all O.S.H.A. regulations and material safety data sheets.

  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty to the company and TradePartner by promoting T.C.S.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Education, Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
