Location: St. Vincent Williamsport at 412 North Monroe Street in Williamsport, Indiana

Facility Name: Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport

Incentives: Competitive Shift Rates

Malpractice: Covered

Schedule: PRN

  • Weekend Shifts: Friday at 5pm through Monday at 7am
  • Call: Remain on call throughout entire shift (Friday 5pm to Monday 7am)
  • Rounding: Conducted Saturday and Sunday at 8am
  • Commitment: One weekend shift every 6 weeks

How you’ll make an impact in this role

This is a flexible opportunity for a motivated Internal Medicine Physician to provide vital inpatient care within a Critical Access Hospital, ensuring the rural community of Williamsport has consistent access to high-quality medical care.

  • Drive clinical excellence by providing comprehensive inpatient care within a critical access environment, ensuring high-quality outcomes for the Williamsport community.
  • Enhance patient access through flexible PRN coverage, managing admissions, rounding, and discharges to maintain seamless continuity of care.
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient care within a full-service, regional hospital setting.
  • Weekend Shifts: Provide 24-hour coverage with a "round and go" model, remaining available by phone for the remainder of the shift.
  • Access to Specialty Assets: Direct integration with the Ascension St. Vincent network for seamless specialist referrals and advanced diagnostic support.
  • Employment: Fully employed position within Ascension Medical Group.
  • Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine.

Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport is a critical access facility providing a wide range of hospital services, including general and laparoscopic outpatient surgery, comprehensive diagnostic clinical tests and medical imaging for acute or emergency care, physical therapy, respiratory care, nutritional support and education, GYN services, OP infusions, and swing bed program.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. 

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

  • Commitment: Ability to provide an average commitment of one weekend every 6 weeks. 
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a critical access environment where teamwork and a "small-town feel" are central to the culture.
  • Experience: Open to new graduates who are eager to practice in a high-autonomy, inpatient setting.
