3 Reasons Consulting (3RC) is a growing government consulting and technology services firm supporting federal and Department of Defense customers with mission-critical technology, cybersecurity, data, application development, and digital transformation initiatives.
3RC is seeking a SharePoint / Power Platform Developer to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA. This position will design, develop, integrate, and maintain Microsoft-based collaboration, workflow, data, and business-process solutions supporting Navy research and operational missions.
Position Overview
The SharePoint / Power Platform Developer will serve as a hands-on technical resource responsible for developing and administering solutions using Microsoft SharePoint and the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
The successful candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, program managers, analysts, and technical teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, user-friendly applications and automated workflows.
This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving business problems through low-code/no-code technologies while still bringing strong software development, data, integration, and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint Development amp; Administration
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, applications, lists, libraries, pages, and workflows.
  • Develop modern SharePoint solutions supporting collaboration, document management, knowledge management, and business processes.
  • Configure SharePoint permissions, security groups, content types, metadata, views, and site structures.
  • Develop custom SharePoint solutions and integrations where standard functionality does not meet requirements.
  • Support SharePoint migrations, upgrades, configuration changes, and modernization initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot SharePoint performance, permissions, workflow, integration, and user-access issues.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint governance, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Microsoft Power Platform
  • Design and develop business applications using Power Apps.
  • Build automated workflows and business processes using Power Automate.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
  • Configure and utilize Microsoft Dataverse for structured application data.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, SQL databases, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
  • Develop reusable components and solutions that improve business-process efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot application, workflow, data, and integration issues.
Application amp; Data Integration
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and application solutions.
  • Integrate SharePoint and Power Platform applications with enterprise data sources and systems.
  • Develop solutions using REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, connectors, and web services.
  • Build data-access and integration workflows between SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL Server, and other applications.
  • Develop data models and relationships to support Power Apps and Power BI solutions.
  • Ensure data is accurate, secure, accessible, and appropriately governed.
Workflow amp; Process Automation
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Design and implement automated approval, notification, tracking, reporting, and document-management workflows.
  • Replace manual, spreadsheet-based processes with secure and maintainable Power Platform solutions.
  • Develop automated notifications, escalations, and task-management capabilities.
  • Monitor workflows and troubleshoot failures or performance issues.
  • Document business processes and technical implementations.
Microsoft 365
  • Support integration with Microsoft 365 services and applications.
  • Work with technologies such as Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Develop solutions that leverage Microsoft 365 data and collaboration capabilities.
  • Support enterprise adoption and optimization of Microsoft 365-based solutions.
Security amp; DoD Compliance
  • Develop solutions in accordance with applicable DoD cybersecurity, information assurance, and data-protection requirements.
  • Implement appropriate access controls, permissions, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53, DISA STIG, and security authorization requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure SharePoint and Power Platform solutions follow approved security and configuration standards.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, security assessments, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain documentation required for security authorization and operational support.
Technical Documentation amp; Support
  • Develop technical designs, application documentation, data-flow diagrams, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint and Power Platform applications.
  • Conduct user training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, demonstrations, testing, and customer reviews.
  • Provide technical recommendations to government and program leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification.
  • Active Secret clearance as required by the contract.
  • 3 years of experience developing and supporting SharePoint and/or Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server.
  • Strong experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience developing workflows and business-process automation.
  • Experience with Power BI and data visualization.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of application integration, APIs, data structures, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Navy environments.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration and Microsoft 365.
  • Advanced Power Platform development experience.
  • Experience with Dataverse and Power Platform solutions/solution management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with SQL Server, Azure services, or enterprise applications.
  • Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
  • Experience with Power BI data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Experience with Power Platform governance, security, and administration.
  • Experience supporting migration from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, identity management, and role-based access controls.
  • Experience working in classified, restricted, or disconnected environments.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53, RMF, DISA STIGs, and DoD 8140/8570 requirements.
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, PL-500, or related certifications.
