Position Summary

The Business Systems SharePoint Architect provides strategic, technical, and operational support for the organization's collaboration and automation ecosystem. This role combines platform architecture, governance support, solution consulting, user enablement, and long-term strategic support. The position ensures that SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and related Microsoft 365 services are secure, scalable, intuitive, and aligned with business needs across all departments. The ideal candidate blends technical expertise with strong communication, process improvement skills, and a passion for leveraging modern digital tools to drive overall organizational efficiency and productivity.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain SharePoint Online information architecture, site structures, taxonomy, and data models.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions integrating SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Teams, and other M365 services.
  • Drive modernization initiatives and platform enhancements.
  • Ensure platform scalability, performance, and long-term sustainability.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex issues, integrations, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Evaluate new features, licensing impacts, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Prioritize enhancements, manage backlog, and coordinate delivery with business stakeholders.
  • Monitor platform health, adoption, and user experience, recommending improvements based on data.
  • Partner with business units to analyze workflows, identify pain points, and recommend process improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Prototype and deliver solutions using SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and process mapping engagements.
  • Ensure solutions follow best practices for maintainability, security, and governance.
  • Support the development and enforcement of governance frameworks for site provisioning, permissions, content lifecycle, and data security.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and operating procedures for site owners and moderators.
  • Conduct periodic audits of permissions, content, and compliance.
  • Partner with IT security, compliance, and business teams to mitigate risks and maintain platform integrity.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and governance playbooks.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to create and deliver trainings and user-friendly documentation.
  • Drive adoption initiatives to increase platform literacy and reduce shadow IT.
  • Coach site owners, power users, and business teams on best practices.
  • Support organizational change management for new features, solutions, and governance updates.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience administering and architecting SharePoint Online environments, including site architecture, permissions models, and content lifecycle management.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, including standards for site provisioning, permissions, metadata, retention, and operational procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting or owning a business-critical platform, including backlog management, roadmap planning, and feature evaluation.
  • Proven track record of translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, including functional specifications, prototypes, and production-ready builds.
  • Experience working with and supporting multidisciplinary teams and tasks.

DESIRED:

  • Experience conducting platform audits (permissions, content, compliance, usage analytics) and implementing remediation plans.
  • Experience delivering training to end users, site owners, and power users, including documentation, workshops, and adoption programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize competing demands, and lead cross-functional initiatives with minimal oversight.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.

PAY, BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE:

We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. Annualized pay rate for this position is $80,750 to $109,250.
