Job Title: Collaboration Migration Consultant (Slack to Microsoft Teams)

Location: Maple Plain, MN
Job Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Collaboration Migration Consultant to support a strategic initiative focused on migrating business users from Slack to Microsoft Teams. This role will work closely with business stakeholders to assess current collaboration tools, define future-state architecture, and execute migration into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current Slack usage, including channels, workflows, and integrations
  • Define future-state collaboration structure in Microsoft Teams (channels, governance, permissions)
  • Lead migration from Slack to Microsoft Teams, including:
    • Channel and content migration
    • User and permission mapping
    • Data validation and testing
  • Evaluate and rebuild Slack workflows (e.g., Zapier automations) using Microsoft tools such as Power Automate and Teams integrations
  • Identify workflows to migrate, redesign, or retire
  • Configure and support migration tools for Slack-to-Teams transition
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to document migration plans
  • Support decision-making on migration strategy and workflow redesign
  • Assist with change management and user adoption
  • Provide documentation to support end-user training
  • Troubleshoot migration-related issues
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience with collaboration platform migrations (Slack, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
