This is a remote work from anywhere in the US:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) . This role is responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud governance, automation, observability, migration, and Infrastructure-As-Code. They will play a key role in establishing and enforcing cloud standards across the organization.
Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, build, and maintain secure and scalable AWS infrastructure in a multi-account hybrid environment based on AWS Organizations practices.
  • Develop and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance policies.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure delivery pipelines to enable reliable and scalable cloud operations, collaborating with Software Engineering teams and leveraging AWS services.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Terraform, and AWS Cloud native services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Software Engineering teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost optimization, and security compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for cloud-related issues.
  • Stay current with AWS services and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Share 7x24 rotational responsibilities for On-Call support
  • Work with the Security and Compliance teams regarding risk mitigation
Qualifications

  • Understanding of PCI-DSS and PCI-Card Production compliance requirements, and secure cloud design preferred.
  • Ability to mentor/coach other Engineers and Peers in a domain or technical area
  • Ability to provide expert technical and thought leadership
  • Outstanding leadership skills, including partnering, consensus-building, and influencing
  • Understanding of service delivery methodologies and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines

  • Preferred cloud knowledge: Foundational knowledge of one of the following cloud environments Azure, GCP, Oracle.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles with a focus on AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services equivalent to AWS Solution Architect or AWS CloudOps Engineer (AWS SysOps Administrator) - Associate certifications.
  • Experience with cloud governance frameworks, AWS Organizations, and policy enforcement.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into the CI/CD process.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Event Bridge, Datadog, Splunk).
