Job description

The Health Educator is responsible for delivering Abstinence based sexual risk avoidance education which provides youth with knowledge regarding the risks associated with nonmarital sexual activity, in an effort to decrease the teen pregnancy rate and prevent the spread of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) for youth ages 10 through 19 by administering curriculum directly to participants in a school-based setting. The program is designed to help todayโ€™s youth obtain the skills necessary to refrain from sexual activity, while promoting positive youth development.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a social service-related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain composure and handle pressure.
  • Experience in a community-based, youth-oriented organization.
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
