Job description

Position DescriptionThe Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) / Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, evidence-based sexual healthcare to adult patients. This position delivers patient-centered, trauma-informed care focused on HIV prevention and treatment, STI management, gender-affirming care, and improving health outcomes for historically underserved populations.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesObtain comprehensive medical, sexual, and social histories; perform physical examinations; assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions.Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies; develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions, including controlled substances, in accordance with Ohio law and organizational policies.Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including testing, treatment, counseling, partner services, and follow-up.Provide HIV prevention services, including HIV risk assessment, prescribing and managing PrEP and PEP, patient education, and ongoing monitoring.Manage the care of people living with HIV, including antiretroviral therapy (ART), laboratory monitoring, medication adherence, and coordination of specialty care.Provide affirming, culturally responsive care to LGBTQ+, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse adults.Educate patients on sexual health, disease prevention, medication adherence, and healthy lifestyle practices.Document patient care accurately and timely in the EPIC electronic medical record.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, high-quality care.Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain compliance with HIPAA and applicable organizational, state, and federal regulations.Licensure and ClearancesMaster's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Current national Nurse Practitioner certification in an appropriate specialty (Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or equivalent).Current, unrestricted Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.Active DEA registration.Current CPR/BLS certification.Successful completion of required criminal background checks, including FBI and Child Abuse clearances.QualificationsExperience or strong interest in sexual health, including HIV prevention and treatment, PrEP/PEP, HIV management, and STI diagnosis and treatment.Commitment to providing affirming, culturally responsive care to LGBTQ+, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse individuals.Current American Academy of HIV Medicine Specialist (AAHIVS) certification or willingness to obtain AAHIVS certification within an agreed-upon timeframe following hire.Strong cultural humility and dedication to serving historically underserved communities.Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, team-based care environment.Compassionate, nonjudgmental, patient-centered approach to care.Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical record systems preferred.Experience in HRA (High Resolution Anoscopy), or interest in training preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
