Many STIs can be asymptomatic, meaning people might not show symptoms but can still transmit the infection to others. Early detection and treatment are important to prevent long-term health complications.

What are the four new STDs?

The four newly recognized sexually transmitted diseases are lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), Mycoplasma genitalium infection, Shigella infections, and Donovanosis.
