Job Description

We are looking for detail-oriented, well-versed Industrial Designer, who is passionate about lifestyle consumer products, beauty, apparel, etc. and wants to be part of an exciting start-up.ย ย As a highly skilled Industrial Designer, you will have a critical role of concepting and developing new products for internal innovation and clientele.ย ย In this role you will contribute to all aspects of industrial design and product innovation, taking products from concept through production.

You will:

โ€ข Manage all aspects of the product or packaging development process on assigned projects from initial concept to generating new product innovations through manufacturing

โ€ข Conceptualize, illustrate, and communicate new product concepts through efficient ideation sketching, photorealistic renderings, and prototypes

โ€ข Participate in concept research, product definition, customer needs and reviews, feasibility and specifications that lead to concept visions and product refinements

โ€ข Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations for product cost, feature, and functionality improvements

โ€ข Elevate competitive position of the product. Evaluate current and proposed products based on factors such as appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials, application, budget, and specifications

โ€ขย Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in industrial design, product design, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial design, with a focus on consumer products
  • Proficient in design software and tools: Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion 360, and Adobe Creative Suite (required)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with excellent time management
  • You must exhibit a love of aesthetics that is founded in craft, materiality, and a curiosity of how things work
  • Experience with all phases of the design process, including trend research, design strategy, concept development, and manufacturing execution
  • Must possess some knowledge of manufacture engineering, including molding techniques (injection), blow molding, compression, plastics, printing basics
  • Ability to thoughtfully communicate your designs, receive feedback gracefully, and contribute to the work of others
  • Excellent team player and independent worker

Compensation range based on experience $90,000 - $120,000. We offer a great package including PTO, benefits, 401K, and holidays. This is an on-site position in Santa Monica.ย
