SUMMARY

The Warranty Manager will play a critical role within the Qcells EPC Warranty Department, managing and executing warranty operations across multiple utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. This position supports the Director of EPC Warranty in ensuring all warranty obligations are met efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with contract requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of technical, commercial, and operational expertise, with the ability to manage warranty claims from initiation to resolution. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Legal, and Finance—as well as with external stakeholders such as OEMs, subcontractors, and project owners. This position reports to the Director of EPC Warranty or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position reports to the Houston, TX office but will maintain a hybrid/remote schedule of working out of the office and their home office. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. This position is expected to travel up to 50%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Warranty Administration

  • Manage the full lifecycle of warranty claims, including intake, validation, documentation, response, and closeout.
  • Maintain detailed claim logs, supporting documentation, and communications using approved company systems (Procore, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Coordinate site inspections and technical evaluations with field personnel to validate claim legitimacy.
  • Support preparation of claim packages and correspondence to Owners and OEMs for review and approval by the Director.
  • Track warranty performance metrics, timelines, and costs across all active projects.

Contract and Technical Support

  • Interpret EPC contract warranty provisions and OEM warranty terms to confirm coverage and obligations.
  • Review and analyze technical issues to distinguish workmanship defects from equipment failures.
  • Provide recommendations on claim disposition based on contractual and technical merit.
  • Assist in standardizing warranty requirements and processes across EPC agreements.

Communication and Coordination

  • Serve as primary contact for warranty matters on assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure timely claim resolution.
  • Draft professional communications, transmittals, and claim responses for internal and external distribution.
  • Escalate complex issues with comprehensive documentation of findings and recommendations.

Data and Reporting

  • Maintain an organized warranty database with accurate tracking of claims, costs, and resolutions.
  • Develop and issue regular warranty status reports and dashboards to management.
  • Identify and analyze trends in recurring failures or defects to support preventive actions.
  • Support annual warranty reserve forecasting and cost reporting.

Process Improvement and Training

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of warranty workflows, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support system integration and reporting enhancements between warranty management tools and corporate databases.
  • Assist in internal training and knowledge sharing to strengthen warranty awareness across EPC project teams.

Field Support

  • Conduct site visits as needed to inspect reported defects, confirm repair quality, and validate claim resolutions.
  • Ensure corrective actions meet both technical and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of all field activities, including photos and written reports.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in EPC project delivery, warranty management, contract administration, or related functions.
  • Familiarity with EPC contract structures, warranty terms, and claims processes.
  • Strong technical understanding of solar or renewable energy components (modules, inverters, trackers, cabling, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, and database management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Expected to travel up to 50% or as requested based on project demands. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

•          Experience with OEM warranty administration or field quality assurance.

•          Understanding of QA/QC and cost control processes.

•          Familiarity with Smartsheet, Power BI, or other data-visualization/reporting tools.

•          Experience supporting claim negotiations or settlements.
