SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) team is seeking a passionate senior-level Military Operations and Systems Analyst focused on national security challenges. In this role, you will directly influence the future of U.S. naval warfighting by providing the rigorous, data-driven analysis that guides critical DoD and Navy decisions. If you are driven to solve complex problems and want to see your work have a real-world impact on military strategy and technology, we want to hear from you.

As a key member of our team, you will conduct rigorous, objective analyses that shape military plans and strategies. Leveraging SPA's advanced simulation systems, you will support the full acquisition lifecycle-from identifying capability gaps and developing requirements to assessing the operational utility of new technologies. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing threats to platforms and systems, evaluating technology development programs, and performing quantitative modeling of naval forces. This role requires a deep commitment to solving real-world problems impacting naval missions, platforms, payloads, and people.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: Analyze the performance of DoD programs and systems. Identify capability gaps, develop requirements, and generate solutions for complex warfighting challenges. Assess the operational utility and technical feasibility of new technologies. Analyze vulnerabilities and threats to critical platforms and systems. Conduct quantitative analysis and modeling of naval forces and their missions. Apply advanced principles to analyze trends in big data to solve real-world problems. Utilize SPA's proprietary simulation systems to support operations, experimentation, and acquisition analysis. Prepare and present deliverables, including written reports of findings and recommendations. Participate in customer meetings and briefings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, physical science, operations research, data science, or a related field
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in naval operations via industry, government, or military service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize and present complex analytical findings to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and apply logical, methodical analytic approaches
  • Top Secret / SCI clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing metrics and conducting operational or technical risk assessment or root cause analysis, especially in the areas of undersea warfare
  • Experience directly interacting with, briefing, and advising DoD or armed service decision-makers
