Job Summary
The ServiceNow Developer supports the administration and development of ServiceNow solutions for Battelle. This role is responsible for both the administration and development of the ServiceNow platform. This includes troubleshooting and resolving incidents, developing solutions to meet business needs, configuring workflows, integrating with third-party systems, and ensuring system stability.
Additionally, the ServiceNow Developer collaborates within an agile team environment, participating in daily stand-ups, weekly meetings, sprint retrospectives and reviews and sprint planning sessions to ensure continuous improvement and delivery of high-quality solutions. They also manage data accuracy, maintain comprehensive documentation, analyze and improve existing programs, and stay updated with relevant technologies and certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Leads the administration and maintenance of ServiceNow reviewing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and requests.
  • Lead development of solutions in ServiceNow to meet business requirements and improve functionality of the system.
  • Configure out-of-the-box workflows and create/maintain custom workflows, business rules, UI policies, and scripts.
  • Integrate ServiceNow applications with third-party systems and applications via APIs and web services.
  • Supervises the daily operations of the ServiceNow platform, including monitoring performance, managing updates, and ensuring system stability.
  • Manage data imports, exports, and integrations with other systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, customizations, and development processes.
  • Analyzes existing programs and formulates logic for new systems. Devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding and tests/debugs for a wide range of programs using creativity.
  • Manages requirements gathering and maintains, tests, and integrates applications components.
  • Recommends and implements changes in development maintenance and system standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills on relevant topics and technologies. Includes pursuing/maintaining technical certifications, as appropriate.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems related disciplines; eight years of experience as a developer; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
  • 4+ years experience as a ServiceNow developer or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, or AngularJS.
  • Experience integrating cloud solutions with on-premises solutions and with other cloud solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service Management.
  • Experience with AJAX, JSON, and integration techniques.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering or developing ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, Discovery, and/or SAM Pro.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of multi-department teams on large enterprise projects.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Systems Administrator or Certified Application Developer.
