TriGreen Equipment is seeking a Service Manager or an experienced Service Technician ready to take the next step into a leadership role. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with hands-on expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial lawn care equipment, agricultural machinery, and worksite products, and who are ready to lead a high-performing service team.
The ideal candidate is a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while driving service department efficiency and profitability.
Major Functions and Scope:
  • Represent TriGreen Equipment in a professional and honest manner, including appearance and dress in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Implement annual departmental goals and budget in alignment with organizational financial and operational targets.
  • Execute the Service Department marketing plan and monitor performance monthly to ensure goals are met.
  • Lead the adoption of best practices and standardized processes across the department.
  • Monitor department and individual employee performance in line with labor sales goals and expense controls.
  • Schedule and assign jobs to service team members based on skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate and resolve interdepartmental concerns and workflow issues.
  • Submit all service warranty claims and Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims within designated timelines to ensure maximum reimbursement.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe and operational condition.
  • Ensure the Service Department is equipped with necessary tools and that all service equipment is properly maintained.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service department environment.
  • Make recommendations for the purchase and maintenance of service vehicles to support profitable operations.
  • Establish and manage a priority system for scheduling service work to ensure timely and efficient completion of work orders.
  • Review departmental performance reports and evaluate staff effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to communicate updates, goals, and improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies, and Supervision:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Service Department operations.
  • Graduation from a John Deere Tech Program is preferred but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard internet functions.
  • Understanding of basic financial principles relevant to Service Department operations.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze internal reports and departmental financial statements.
  • Familiarity with John Deere equipment and competitive products.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to agriculture and outdoor power equipment is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, business planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals or groups, including employees and customers.
  • Skilled in negotiating customer concerns to achieve satisfactory resolutions.
  • Capable of collecting and analyzing data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • This role supervises Service Administrators, Service Foremen, Service and Setup Technicians, and Delivery Personnel.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting at least 75 pounds and performing duties that involve standing, bending, squatting, or sitting for extended periods.
