Job description

At the Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington Christiana, we're looking for a friendly, dependable, and guest-focused Front Desk Associate who enjoys meeting new people and helping create a great experience from the moment our guests walk through the door.
As a Front Desk Associate, you'll be one of the first faces our guests see and a go-to person throughout their stay. You'll welcome and check in guests, manage reservations and payments, answer questions, help solve problems, and work closely with other hotel departments to make sure our guests feel taken care of.
We're looking for someone who is positive, approachable, organized, and comfortable thinking on their feet. Hotel experience is always a plus, but what matters most is a genuine desire to help people, a willingness to learn, and the ability to stay calm and friendly even when things get busy.
Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Welcome guests and provide a friendly and efficient check-in and check-out experience
  • Manage reservations, modifications, cancellations, and guest information
  • Process payments and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
  • Answer questions about the hotel, amenities, policies, and local area
  • Respond to guest requests and help resolve concerns professionally and promptly
  • Communicate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to help keep hotel operations running smoothly
  • Assist guests with luggage, transportation, packages, messages, and other needs
  • Help manage room availability and communicate room status with Housekeeping
  • Prepare and assist with daily occupancy and revenue reports
  • Balance and reconcile your cash drawer according to hotel procedures
  • Promote hotel amenities, services, and available upgrades
  • Follow hotel safety and security procedures
  • Jump in and help the team wherever needed to create a seamless guest experience

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, move throughout the front desk and lobby areas, use computers and other office equipment throughout the shift, and occasionally lift or carry items up to 30 pounds.
