Job description

The Senior Service Delivery Consultant is a hands-on, customer-facing technical engineering role within our Professional Services team. In this role, you'll own the design, deployment, assessment, and troubleshooting of complex customer environments, independently leading multiple simultaneous projects while acting as a mentor and first-line escalation point for other engineers.
As a Senior Consultant, you are responsible for building customer trust and demonstrating outcome-oriented thinking to drive consistent and creative solution delivery that connects our portfolio to real-world customer challenges.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead Technical Delivery: Design, deploy, assess, and support complex, multi-product solutions independently.
  • Act as Escalation Point: Serve as the first escalation for technical issues that arise during project delivery.
  • Mentor & Coach: Guide junior consultants and delivery engineers, sharing best practices, troubleshooting approaches, and knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure Quality: Deliver projects to Aqueduct's standards for design, implementation, and documentation in alignment with customer expectations and statements of work.
  • Customer Advisory: Build trust with customers by demonstrating deep knowledge, clear communication, and an outcome-focused mindset.
  • Team Contribution: Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, helping refine delivery approaches, developing internal reference architectures and other artifacts, and supporting internal knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain Billable Focus: Meet an average target of ~72% billable utilization while balancing delivery with coaching and QA responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience deploying solutions in your practice area within IT consulting or professional services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead deployments with minimal oversight, work with cross-functional teams, solve advanced problems, and handle project escalations.
  • Practical experience designing and deploying solutions that align with industry best practices and validated reference architectures.
  • Proven track record mentoring other engineers or acting as a peer guide on technical delivery.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as your peers.
  • Curiosity, a growth mindset, and the drive to stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Relevant intermediate or advanced industry certifications for your practice area are strongly preferred

Why This Role Matters:
Our Senior Service Delivery Consultants are the backbone of our delivery teams - the experts who turn design into reality and keep customers coming back. You set the bar for what great looks like: proactive, precise, and invested in the success of your teammates and your customers alike.
If you're ready to own complex solutions and outcomes, mentor others, learn new technologies and grow your impact, this is the role for you.
Practice Focus:
As a Senior Service Delivery Consultant - Network & Security, you deliver Aqueduct's enterprise networking and cybersecurity solutions with confidence and precision. You lead and execute complex assessments, validated designs, and secure, scalable deployments across campus, datacenter, cloud, and hybrid environments. You also help advance modern delivery practices through automation, Infrastructure as Code, and emerging AI-assisted engineering workflows.
You'll work across technologies including:
  • Enterprise LAN/WAN (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki, Juniper Mist, FortiSwitch, Nile)
  • SD-WAN and secure WAN architectures (Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Cloud and hybrid-cloud networking, including Azure and AWS connectivity, routing, segmentation, security integration, and private connectivity
  • Firewalls and security platforms (Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Umbrella, ZScaler)
  • Identity and access control systems (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Microsoft NPS)
  • Wireless (Ekahau survey/design, Meraki, Cisco, FortiAP, Juniper Mist, Nile)
  • Zero Trust architectures and segmentation (ZTNA, SASE, SSE)
  • MFA platforms (Okta, Duo, Azure)
  • Network automation and Infrastructure as Code (Catalyst Center, Ansible, Jinja2, Python, Terraform), including repeatable configuration, validation, and deployment workflows
  • AI-assisted engineering workflows, including the practical use of generative and agentic AI to accelerate troubleshooting, documentation, automation, analysis, and delivery quality

What Success Looks Like:
  • You independently lead network and security assessments, validated designs, and implementation for multi-vendor environments, executing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing clear technical guidance throughout the engagement.
  • You mentor junior engineers on best practices for secure configurations, troubleshooting, and scalable deployments.
  • You work closely with the broader Service Delivery teams (PMO, CX, MS).
  • You act as first-line technical escalation during delivery and see projects through to successful outcomes.
  • You help advance the team's technical practices by introducing and mentoring others on cloud networking, automation/IaC, and practical AI-assisted engineering approaches.

Preferred Certifications Include:
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP Enterprise or Security (or equivalent)
  • Palo Alto PCNSA +
  • Fortinet FCA/FCP
