Job description

Are you a technical powerhouse who thrives on the challenge of building complex, high-availability infrastructure? We are looking for a Senior Technical Systems Engineer who can bridge the gap between deep-dive engineering and high-level project coordination.
In this role, you aren't just building servers; you are the conductor of a high-stakes technical orchestra. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of server builds across the entire stack, ensuring that every layer-from the OS to the database-is resilient, optimized, and delivered on schedule.
What You'll Do
Architect & Execute: Lead the end-to-end build of highly available servers on industry-standard operating systems.
Coordinate Expertise: Act as the central nervous system for a matrixed team, directing technical experts to ensure seamless integration across the stack.
Manage at Scale: Simultaneously oversee a high volume of server builds in various lifecycle stages without breaking a sweat.
Communicate with Impact: Translate complex technical hurdles into clear status reports for engineers and high-level summaries for executive leadership.
Problem Solve: Rapidly pivot between tasks and troubleshoot bottlenecks across hardware, software, agents, and tools.
The Skillset
Top 5 Must-Have Hard Skills
End-to-End Server Engineering: Proven experience building and deploying highly available servers from the ground up.
Full-Stack Infrastructure Knowledge: Deep understanding of the entire stack, including the OS, middleware, tools, and agents.
Technical Orchestration: Ability to coordinate and direct specialized technical experts to complete complex workstreams.
Agile Problem Solving: Mastery of rapid task-switching and solving multifaceted technical roadblocks.
Large-Scale Build Management: Experience overseeing a high volume of concurrent server builds in various stages of completion.
Top 5 Soft Skills
Bilingual Communication: Ability to speak "fluent engineer" while also translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic Reporting: Crafting strong, clear status updates for technical teams and "big picture" reports for leadership.
Influential Leadership: The ability to drive results and gain buy-in across matrixed teams without direct authority.
Directing Technical Talent: Skill in assigning precise tasks and providing clear direction to engineers.
Operational Resilience: Staying grounded and organized in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Top 5 Nice-to-Have Skills
IBM AIX Mastery: Hands-on experience with AIX environments.
Linux Expertise: Strong proficiency in enterprise Linux distributions.

Day 60: Operating at full capacity, managing the 15-20 person matrixed team's output efficiently.
Day 90: Serving as a subject matter expert and training new resources on the build-to-delivery lifecycle.
