MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Server Engineer to join our team based out of Chantilly, VA. This is an onsite position.
The Server Engineer must exhibit good judgment in interfacing with all government and contract personnel, providing proper examples of work performance, and adherence to professional standards and operational and security guidelines as defined by the Government and MANTECH.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide server installation and GO live support for new facilities; perform refresh of servers (CONUS), provide a plan and update it as needed; provide non-routine (e.g., emergency) server installation support services.
  • Coordinate with the applicable points-of-contact to arrange server installations and minimize disruptions to on-going activities; Coordinate logistics with the other functional elements of this contract (e.g., shipping and receiving, deployment, training, etc.); and create accurate technical documents for all server installation activities.
  • Perform server installation refreshes (all hardware components) with full hardware, OS installation, configuration and migration of data to new hardware; after installation and deployment, ensure that the systems are configured per technical specifications contained in approved technical documentation; in support of an active deployment, perform operating system configuration and security fixes.
  • Provide guidance to highly technical systems engineers, Server installation including Dell iDrac, Windows Server, ESXi, NetApp ONTAP, SNAP Mirror and SQL Database Support; provides technical expertise in the management of servers that connect to a public and/or private network such as Internet protocol (IP) networks, wide area networks (WANs), switches, routers (CISCO), and troubleshoot issues by collaborating with all parties.
  • Provide Technical expertise and guidance to Servers, System Administrators team, trouble shoot complex issues.
  • Assist design of network installation configurations from ground-up in new sites, support decommissioning of a site, and assist in moves, support computer systems and peripherals; create, review, and update SOPs.
  • May lead functional teams or projects Requires depth and/or breadth of expertise, and all other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on Server/Network.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making; experience in Customer Service.
  • One or more IT industry certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere platform to include vCenter, vMotion and ESXi; hands-on experience with server installations including Windows Server, Linux, NetApp ONTAP, and Dell PowerEdge system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Productivity applications; database configuration and administration
  • Storage appliance configuration and migration.
  • Must be able to travel at least 25%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current active Secret clearance strongly preferred

Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to starting this position and maintain a Secret clearance thereafter.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to physically lift equipment weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform installation work in constrained spaces like under work desks, in small cubicles, and counter window environments.
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as laptop, desktop, printer, fax machine, etc.
  • Must be able to review; decipher and understand program manuals; software/hardware manuals; training manuals; etc.

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,200.00-$128,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
