Description:

Paraprofessional to support student safety, growth, and learning under the direction of the Intervention Specialist, and evaluated by the building administrator. Responsibilities include implementing components of students' IEPs, providing individual and group instruction, utilizing de-escalation strategies, and assisting with instructional materials and student data collection. Candidates must have a high school diploma and either an Associate's degree or a passing score on the Paraprofessional assessment. Preferred qualifications include experience working with children and crisis de-escalation certification.
Hours: 7 hours paid per day
Number of days per school year: 181 work days and 8 paid holidays = 189 days
Benefits: Insurance available through ESC of Central Ohio
Retirement: SERS (School Employees Retirement System)
Starting rates of pay:
  • No degree and no experience: $18.67 per hour
  • Bachelor's degree and no experience: $21.06 per hour
  • Current and active teaching license: increases pay by $0.38 per hour increase
  • Completion of 40 hours of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Coursework: $0.38 per hour increase
  • Rates of pay are increased with verifiable education and experience
  • Longevity incentive after 90 days of service
