Job description

Senior PL/SQL Developer

This position independently contributes to SERS application enhancement and SERIS modernization efforts using PL/SQL, Shell scripting technologies, some Oracle ADF and some Oracle Forms/Reports process. The incumbent of this position will focus on reviewing the healthcare module, propose changes and implement the solution in the SERS application that will carry forward as our system is modernized. This will include updating the database structure, automating reoccurring processes, address process bugs, and complete enhancement requests related to SERS interface into PEBTF.

The position is responsible for designing, coding and testing application software across all architecture tiers and development lifecycle phases in support of SERS interface into the PEBTF process. This is an individual contributor position. The position assists in the definition and delivers complex IT work products at agreed deadlines. This position is to be self-managed with accountability regarding the analysis of the current workings, analysis of business needs and ensuring the developed solution meets quality expectations.

Day to day operations will primarily be composed of process review, interacting with the business analyst team, interacting with business area subject matter experts, automating the inbound/outbound interface files and updating custom applications. Work will also include completion of enhancement requests, known as problem logs of varying complexity and scope. Much of this work is to be completed with PL/SQL scripting technologies.

Required Skills:

  • 5-7 years of practical PL/SQL development experience
  • 3-5 years of experience with Shell scripting technologies
  • 2-3 years of experience with application testing and release
  • Experience using Oracle ADF technology
  • Experience using Oracle Reports Builder and Oracle Forms Builder preferred
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills
  • Self-managed with an ability to analyze and design a complex technical module
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Ability to work and communicate with a wide range of people โ€“ peers, vendors, management and others
  • Ability to display professional, positive, approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion
  • Ability to manage own time effectively given priorities from manager
