The Analyst I - RGQC Sequencing is responsible for analyzing RG projects through sampling, testing via sequencing, and completing the applicable documentation to support RG Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Research & Development (R&D) in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This position reports to the Sequencing Supervisor - RGQC and is part of the Research Grade Quality Control team located at the Aldevron Advance Campus (A1) and will be an on-site role currently planned to work first shift.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Independently perform sequencing assays according to established standard operating procedures, including nanopore sequencing, primer design, plate set-up, and sequencing result analysis
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist in troubleshooting as needed
  • Perform data entry and peer review for accuracy in accordance with laboratory procedures. Maintain inventory, reagents, buffers, and other lab consumables

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in any scientific field
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory practices
  • Ability to follow written procedures and verbal directions

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and use arms, hands, and fingers for various activities. This position may stand or remain sedentary for long periods of time. This position routinely works with large pieces of equipment.
  • This position works in a Research Grade lab setting and may encounter various solutions and chemicals and will be responsible for activities related to biological processes such as bacterial growth. This position uses standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, glass ware, shake flasks, fermenters, fume hoods, and computers.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience using pipettes preferred
  • Experience with Sanger sequencing and/or Nanopore sequencing method preferred
