We are seeking to hire candidates for our Utility Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic - 1st Class (0771).

*Starting Pay Rate: $37.11/hour - After 12 Months: $41.23, based on applicable contract.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic with expertise in Pennsylvania state inspections and comprehensive automotive repair. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in inspection adjustment, diagnosis, repair, and replacement of parts and units for a wide range of automotive equipment. This includes specialized systems such as hydraulic systems, emission control systems, self-lubricating systems, and air/hydraulic brake systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Repair diesel and gas engines, clutches, rear differential systems, electrical equipment and supervisor's cars under the general supervision of the supervisor. 
  • Diagnose all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues.
  • Determine the extent of repairs needed to performs necessary repairs.
  • Conduct Pennsylvania State Inspections and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance of Authority owned vehicles.
  • Perform Pennsylvania State Inspections and determine the extent of required repairs.
  • Maintain/Repair snow fighting equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must satisfactorily complete qualifications tests and performance tests as required.
  • Must have experience as an automotive mechanic, with experience repairing engines, transmissions, clutches, etc.
  • Must also have experience on hydraulic systems, emission control systems, self-lubricating systems, air and hydraulic brake systems.
  • Must have valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Will be required to obtain a Class 7 Pennsylvania State Inspection license and Pennsylvania Emissions license.
