Job Description:
Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing security devices including cutting and fitting keys to locks, designing master key systems, changing lock and key systems, changing combinations on electrical and mechanical locks and picking and bypassing locks. Specific duties include responding to emergency security concerns, performing inspections and updating technical specifications
Job Focus:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
โ€ข Installs, maintains and repairs locks, including cutting and fitting keys to locks, designing master key systems, changing lock and key systems, changing combinations on electrical and mechanical locks and picking and bypassing locks
โ€ข Installs and repairs door hardware
โ€ข Uses the computer to perform audits and estimates and to manipulate key code programs and master key software
โ€ข Opens and sets combination on safes and vaults
โ€ข Installs, repairs and troubleshoots automatic openers
โ€ข Provides inspections and security consultations
โ€ข Performs audit of all door hardware
โ€ข Revises and updates technical specifications on the computer
โ€ข Performs other job related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent
โ€ข Minimum of five (5) years of experience in locksmith services preferably in a hotel/hospitality setting
โ€ข Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of business
โ€ข A professional appearance and demeanor must be maintained at all times
โ€ข Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
โ€ข Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in English, both written and verbal
โ€ข Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required
โ€ข Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
โ€ข A proven ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
โ€ข Operating knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools and powered equipment
โ€ข Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as: telephones, copier, fax machine, Email, etc
โ€ข Must have a degree of honesty and trust
โ€ข Knowledge of lock picking devices, code cutting devices, hand/power tools and key machines.
โ€ข Master Locksmith Certification
โ€ข A valid NV Driver's License is required and must be obtained before entering this position
โ€ข Must be 21 years of age or older
