Job description

We are looking for a Senior Workday Analyst to support Workday Performance Management initiatives for a long-term contract opportunity based in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will partner with HR, talent management, and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable Workday solutions that improve performance, goal-setting, and feedback processes. The position focuses on analysis, configuration support, testing, process improvement, and governance across the talent technology landscape. This opportunity is well suited for someone who combines strong functional knowledge of Workday with a thoughtful, stakeholder-focused approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with HR, talent management, and business teams to identify needs, define priorities, and shape effective Workday Performance Management solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions and gather detailed business, security, configuration, and reporting requirements for performance-related processes.
• Evaluate current workflows, identify process gaps, and recommend improvements that enhance the experience for employees, managers, and HR users.
• Support the design, configuration, testing, and rollout of enhancements for performance reviews, talent goals, feedback, templates, and questionnaires within Workday.
• Research new Workday capabilities and related talent technology options, then present practical recommendations that align with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess system issues, determine business impact, and help develop corrective actions and sustainable resolutions.
• Create acceptance criteria, validate proposed solutions with stakeholders, and ensure outcomes meet functional and strategic expectations.
• Contribute to system administration, governance, monitoring, and ongoing optimization activities for Workday Performance Management.
• Provide guidance and training to team members and stakeholders on established processes, new functionality, and best practices.
• Participate in special projects involving analysis, development support, testing, and implementation of talent technology enhancements.

• Demonstrated experience supporting Workday, with strong knowledge of Workday HCM Performance Management and related talent processes.

• Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and process reviews.

• Experience translating functional needs into solution designs, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.

• Strong understanding of HR systems, reporting, security considerations, and process optimization practices.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, project teams, and business leaders.

• Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data to support analysis and decision-making.

• Strong troubleshooting, research, planning, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience training users or team members on systems, workflows, and best practices is preferred.
