In this career, your responsibilities include designing, developing, and debugging the backend of software programs for websites, applications, tools, and databases. You also work with JavaScript frameworks, develop tests using testing frameworks, help build and deploy automation scripts, troubleshoot, and resolve app performance issues. As a senior web developer, you may supervise a team of developers and collaborate with user experience designers to determine what the frontend user experience and website layout will look like during the design phase. Other duties may include enforcing coding standards, reviewing the work completed by your team, managing the budget and project schedule, and communicating directly with clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior web developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Web Developer, you need advanced proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and backend frameworks, supported by a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
