Job description

Social Media Manager

Location: Midvale, UT, 84047

The Opportunity

ZAGG's social media presence is being rebuilt with intention, and this hire is the person who executes it. This is not a scheduling role. It is a content marketing role with social as its primary expression. The Social Media Manager will bring ZAGG's voice to life across every platform, translating brand strategy into authentic, high-quality content that connects with consumers who care about protecting and enhancing the devices they rely on every day.

Working under the Sr. Manager of Social Media amp; Community, this person is a hands-on creator and channel operator. They own the content calendar, execute with precision, and bring creative energy and platform fluency to everything that goes out under the ZAGG name.

What You'll OwnContent Creation amp; Execution
  • Execute ZAGG's content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, X and LinkedIn with a clear point of view on what each platform demands and how each serves the broader brand and business.
  • Build and maintain a content calendar that balances brand storytelling, product education, cultural relevance, and commerce without ever feeling like advertising.
  • Be a hands-on creator: concepting, scripting, shooting, editing, and publishing content, not just briefing others to do it.
  • Bring a consistent, premium creative sensibility to every post, story, reel, and short-form video. ZAGG is the world's number one mobile protection brand and the content should reflect that.
Platform Execution
  • Demonstrate deep, platform-specific fluency. You understand the algorithm, the culture, the format, and the audience of each platform independently and tailor content accordingly.
  • Own ZAGG's organic TikTok content execution including formats, posting cadence, and trends integration.
  • Support YouTube as a product education and brand storytelling channel, contributing to a strategy that builds subscribers and supports both brand and search.
  • Drive Instagram as ZAGG's primary lifestyle and community platform with a consistent aesthetic, clear voice, and strong engagement mechanics.
Influencer amp; Creator Support
  • Support the influencer and micro-influencer program under the direction of the Sr. Manager, including creator identification, outreach coordination, and relationship management.
  • Assist with briefing, content review, and performance tracking processes for creator partnerships.
  • Stay current on creator trends, platform monetization shifts, and the evolving influencer landscape and bring proactive ideas to the Sr. Manager.
UGC
  • Identify, curate, repurpose, and amplify real customer content across ZAGG's owned channels.
  • Support the development of systems and incentives that encourage high-quality UGC at scale including reviews, reposts, hashtag campaigns, and community engagement.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce team to surface UGC opportunities for integration into the DTC site experience and product pages.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Brand Marketing to ensure social content reflects and reinforces ZAGG's visual identity, brand voice, and tone.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce team to align content with product launches, promotional moments, and conversion goals.
  • Collaborate with Performance Marketing to identify organic content with paid amplification potential and provide creative assets that serve both organic and paid needs.
  • Participate actively in campaign briefings, product launch planning, and seasonal marketing calendars.
Measurement amp; Reporting
  • Track and report on social media KPIs including follower growth, engagement rate, reach, video views, UGC volume, and platform-specific performance metrics.
  • Report performance clearly and honestly. Platform-reported vanity metrics are not the goal. Meaningful engagement and business contribution are.
  • Use data to iterate quickly: what works gets scaled, what does not gets cut or reworked without ego.
What We're Looking ForExperience
  • 2 to 4 years managing social media for a consumer product brand with a meaningful lifestyle or tech component.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and engage an audience across multiple platforms simultaneously with platform-specific strategies rather than one-size-fits-all content.
  • Hands-on content creation experience. You have built, shot, and edited content yourself, not just managed others to do it.
  • Working knowledge of TikTok Shop, affiliate linking, and the commerce mechanics of social platforms.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with brand, Ecommerce, and performance marketing teams.
Skills amp; Capabilities
  • Platform fluency: you speak Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, X and LinkedIn natively. Their cultures, formats, and algorithms are not interchangeable to you.
  • Creative storytelling: you are a content marketer first. You think in narratives, not posts.
  • Visual sensibility: you have a strong aesthetic eye and can recognize and produce content that looks intentional, not generic.
  • Analytical instincts: you know which metrics matter, which are noise, and how to use data to make faster creative decisions.
  • Strong written voice: your captions, briefs, and pitches are clear, compelling, and on-brand.
The Intangibles
  • You are relentlessly creative. You wake up thinking about content ideas and are constantly consuming, referencing, and reacting to what is happening in culture.
  • You have strong opinions about what makes content good and the confidence to defend them while remaining open to feedback.
  • You are energized by execution and take personal ownership of the quality of everything that goes out under the brand.
  • You understand that great social media builds brands and drives business, and you are motivated by both.
