Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer, Expert Position Overview We are seeking an Expert-level VDI Engineer to architect, design, and sustain virtual desktop infrastructure supporting critical mission operations. This role combines deep VMware vSphere and Horizon engineering with Tier 3/4 escalation support, working across multiple complex production environments and serving as the technical bridge between VDI platforms, system administrators, and stakeholders. Location: Chantilly, VA Clearance Level: TS/SCI ISSA w/FS poly Salary range: $230k-$250k with healthcare election, $250k-$270k without Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Architect and design virtual desktop infrastructure, and provide Tier 3/4 support to system administrators to resolve VDI issues Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies Offer endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks for virtual desktop related work Maintain an advanced knowledge of administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure related technologies Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders Apply extensive technical expertise with full knowledge of other related disciplines Provide engineering support for legacy and current versions of VMware products What you'll need to succeed: 7+ years of experience with a BS degree, or a combination of years of experience and education Progressive roles from Administrator to Sr. Engineer Extensive familiarity with VMware vSphere virtualization Extensive familiarity and experience configuring and managing the VMware (now Omnissa) Horizon EUC platform Experience providing engineering support for legacy and current versions of VMware products What we offer: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to work with modern virtualization and EUC technologies Professional development and certification support Collaborative team environment with growth opportunities Waveguide Benefits Package Fully employer paid healthcare (no employee premium deduction), family coverage Anthem High Deductible POS plan $2,800 personal / $6,500 family deductible HSA employer contributions of $4,800 per year Dental and vision coverage through Anthem Guardian STD and LTD 401k: up to 15% employer contributions, including 3% non-elective contribution annually and 7-12% profit sharing contribution calculated on billable hours x hourly salary, beginning after 1 year of service with Waveguide Employer paid training as needed 22 days PTO, first year balance front loaded upon hire, accrual begins on 1 year anniversary date, plus 11 paid federal holidays
