Job description

Senior Transportation Connection (STC) provides transportation to seniors and adults with mobility challenges throughout Cuyahoga County. Being part of the team means ore than just being a driver - you'll be providing vital transportation support, fostering meaningful connections within the community, and helping individuals maintain their independence! WE ARE HIRING BOTH FULL TIME AND PART TIME DRIVERS.

Responsibilities

Operates passenger vehicles providing riders door to door transportation to medical appointments, senior centers, grocery stores and other personal appointments. Often loads and off-loads walking aids, e.g., canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. and packages.

Communicates with Dispatch Office throughout the day, utilizing an electronic tablet for navigation purposes and to track assigned rider pick up and drop off locations.

Performs accurate, efficient and thorough vehicle inspections and cleaning before and after each shift. Fueling of vehicle as needed.

Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage promptly, using appropriate documentation and reporting rules.

Maintains all required licenses, certifications and other training requirements.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Written and Oral communication required.

High school diploma or equivalent highly desirable.

Minimum three (3) years driving experience required. Experience as a professional driver highly desirable.

Must possess work history with track record of successful customer service.

Must hold a valid driverโ€™s license with no more than two (2) points on record. Annual verifications are performed.

Must pass criminal background check prior to hire.

Must pass drug and alcohol tests prior to hire, and random tests thereafter.

Must pass physical exam as required by the Ohio Department of Transportation prior to hire.

Must be able to work 8 hour shifts on both full and part time schedules.


Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting while driving.

Bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, walking and reaching.

Must be able to climb and descend stairs.

Exposed to all types of outside weather conditions.

Must be able to lift 20 lbs. to assist with helping passengers, walking aids, and other items on and off vehicles.
