Job description

Senior Test Technician

Ardent Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Test Technician with a strong background in advanced electrical testing, PCB-level troubleshooting, and electronics manufacturing.

This position supports Production, Engineering, and Quality by diagnosing complex failures, improving testing processes, and ensuring electronic assemblies and final products meet performance and reliability standards. The Senior Test Technician will also provide guidance and technical support to less-experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced electrical and functional testing on PCBs, cable assemblies, electronic modules, and finished products
  • Troubleshoot failures to the component, circuit, or subsystem level
  • Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and related diagnostic equipment
  • Perform firmware loading, software configuration, calibration, and system-level verification
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and work with Engineering to implement corrective actions
  • Support first-article testing, NPI builds, and engineering validation activities
  • Assist with the development of test procedures, fixtures, scripts, and technical documentation
  • Document test results, failure modes, and corrective actions in MES or other tracking systems
  • Maintain test equipment and support calibration compliance
  • Mentor junior and mid-level test technicians
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve issues and support on-time delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Five or more years of test technician experience within electronics or EMS manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and digital and analog circuits
  • Advanced PCB-level troubleshooting and failure-analysis experience
  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, engineering drawings, and test documentation
  • Experience with soldering and rework, including through-hole and SMT
  • Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to ITAR requirements

Highly Preferred

  • Experience with ICT, flying probe, boundary scan, automated test equipment, or system-level test platforms
  • Familiarity with firmware loading, embedded systems testing, and calibration
  • Experience supporting NPI builds and first-article testing
  • Knowledge of IPC, ESD, ISO, or AS quality standards
  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, C#, or other programming and scripting tools
